I don't know why I dislike (hate) Jane so much but I just do!! Cough! Cough! Do you think I should speak to Phil or just ignore him? The thing that makes me mad was that she dropped John FLAT!!! In my opinion John is nothing but one doll!!! Everything was fine & perfect until Jane came along. Please! Don't tell anyone?

I know why you dislike her and I can't say that I blame you! You might as well speak to Phil. You know how boys are. If Phil thinks you're mad he'll just act worse than ever. Just act like you don't really care. John wasn't shocked. In fact, I think he's been expecting it for some time. At least he should have been if he wasn't. Honestly, that girl better watch herself, before long none of the guys will go with her. By the time she's a senior there won't be anyone left for her. You just can't pretend that you like a boy and get away with it for long. In a way I'm sorry for Jane. She's just looking for someone to really like, but can't find anyone. I think it's better to not date at all than to lead someone on, don't you? Phil will catch on soon. After all, John did, Sam did, Porky did, Bobby did. Why not Phil?

I agree about leading people on. I guess I do feel sorry for her. I doubt if Phil will catch on. John would probably take her back any day! Now who will John like, do you think?

Kathy:
John's got his eyes open for frosh. No one special yet. He sits behind me in History next period. I think I'll make like Sherlock Holmes and do a little snooping. Naturally I won't mention any names. You know the bit about the names have been changed to protect the innocent!???! John is one of my favorite people. He has a sharp personality. I think he is a real doll. He has talent and then some. Did you ever see any of his art work? You can see I think a lot of John. He's a lot nicer and more sincere (which is important to me) than most of the guys in the class. In other words I'm hinting! You two would make a real neat couple. Get the hint? Write back.

Gee! Thanks a lot. I do think he's really neat!! The coolest! I'm glad he's sincere too! You'd make a good Sherlock Holmes!! But do you think he'd take Jane back at once?
