Well, I did it by God. But I almost didn't. That same old chicken feeling was coming up again. We went to "Bell, Book, and Candle" with Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak. When he and she had their first big kiss, it would have been a good time to do it, but I let it go by. Then the damn movie was over. March 7, Saturday
But we stayed to see the beginning again.
Finally the kissing scene came again and I turned to her and kind of murmered, "Well, I guess this is what we were waiting for," and kissed her. She put her hand on my cheek. Then we kept our heads together, but after a while it got uncomfortable and we came apart and pretty soon we left. I didn't try anything at her door saying goodnight.
Boy, I would have kicked my ass if I didn't do it.
Cathy Blackburn asked me to a party she's having Saturday. I'm going. I guess Stella asked Gary Olmsted, dammit. March 11, Wednesday

Went to Cathy's party. Sam VanShad was with Jane Carber. He would dance with her really funny, bending her way over in a real dramatic way, like Jose Carioca or something. God, he had me laughing.
Danced with Stella a couple of times. She was pretty nice. I don't know why she asked Olmsted, dammit.
March 16, Monday
When I saw Stella in the Frosh hall this morning I just went by and didn't say a damn thing. I heard her say, "Well!"
Ha! Later I passed her going the other way and her nose was in the air. Later Carol said that Stella said that she was going to ask Gary Olmsted out again and she wouldn't be an icebox either!
