The Swing Shift

Tuesday, May 18, 1943.

New system inaugurated today, giving everyone 24 hours on and 24 hours off. No flying today so the morning section tried to stretch their day off by leaving a little early.

"Here comes the swing shift. Lookit those bright eager faces."

"The gold-brick twins pullin' a legal goof-off. It's not like the old days."

Sign at lower left: "Keep off the grass, goddammit!"
