I had to lie! It's a simple matter of self-preservation. We CANNOT get caught. Everything would be gone. We wouldn't be trusted. Our social life would be ruined. If it ever gets out (and it would because Mrs. Bradlee is a great talker) you can imagine what everyone will think. Jane, Kathy, etc. I might as well kill myself!
