I got a good book, Some Came Running. It's about a writer who goes back to his home town after the war. It's really good. There's a movie of it too. It's fairly sexy I think, but I haven't got that far. I read it all afternoon.
Mom made me go to Sunday school today. As I was passing the Methodist church I saw Don Coe and Jim Gardner. We went down to Frost's and drank cokes and listened to the jukebox till Sunday school was over. Feb 22, Sunday
This afternoon I went back to Frost's to get a model and Phil Comstock was back in a booth with Carol so I went back and sat down. I spent most of the conversation making dirty cracks and Carol kept kicking me under the table. Finally Comstock came over to my house to come up and see my room. We went up and I got a pack of Kools that I swiped from Mom. We lit up and fagged away.
Feb 23, Monday
Asked Stella to the show Saturday. She said yes.
No one was ready to give reports today. Mr. Streets marked down question marks in the grade book.
Sat next to Georgia Meeks in the pep rally. All through the whole thing we sat with our legs pressed against each other. I mean my leg pressed against hers. Man, it was neat. She sure is a neat hunk!
